Who this covers

This policy covers the R8D Athlete app for iOS and Android and this website. “R8D Athlete”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs the app. “You” means anyone who uses it, whether as an athlete, a parent or guardian, a coach or a trainer.

Information you give us

Most of what we hold is information you or the people connected to an athlete choose to add.

• Account details: your name, email address and the sign-in you use, including Apple or Google sign-in.
• Profile details: your role, birth date or age band, sport, position, graduation year and a profile photo if you add one.
• Trainer profiles: specialties, the city or region you serve and your booking link.
• The athlete record: evaluations and ratings, measurables, goals and progress notes, challenge activity and proof, awards, highlight film links, team history and academics such as GPA, grades and school reports.
• Photos and files you upload, such as award images, academic attachments and challenge proof.
• Messages you send us, such as a support request or a problem report.

Information collected automatically

• A push notification token and your notification preferences, if you allow notifications.
• Crash reports with your device model, operating system and app version, linked only to your account ID, so we can find and fix problems.
• Standard server logs, such as IP address and request times, which keep the service secure and working.

We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not collect your precise location. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

How we use it

• To run the app: sign you in, build the athlete record and show it to the people who have access.
• To send the notifications and emails you expect, such as invitations, new evaluations and account messages.
• To create AI goal plans when you ask for one.
• To verify and restore your membership.
• To keep the service safe, prevent misuse, fix problems and answer support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Children and parents

Many athletes on R8D Athlete are children, so this part is written for parents and guardians. In the United States, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) gives parents a say over information collected about children under 13. Here is what R8D Athlete does.

A child under 13 cannot sign up. A parent or guardian creates the child’s record from their own account and controls it. The parent decides if and when the child gets a login of their own.

When you add a child under 13, the app asks you to turn on one row: “I am this child’s parent or legal guardian and I consent to R8D Athlete keeping their record.” The record is not created until you do.

What we keep about the child, and why:

• Name, birth date, sport, position and graduation year, to build the record and apply the age rules.
• Photos you add, such as a profile photo or an award picture.
• Ratings and notes from coaches and trainers, and the child’s own self-ratings, to show progress over time.
• Measurables such as height, weight and sprint times, plus goals, challenge activity, awards, film links and team history.
• Academics such as grades and school reports, only if your family adds them.

We do not ask a child for an email address, we do not collect a child’s location and we do not track a child across other apps or websites.

Who can see the record:

• You and any other parent or guardian of the child, and the child once they have their own login.
• Coaches of a team the child is on. Coaches need R8D’s approval before they can write evaluations.
• Trainers you connect with. Trainers need R8D’s approval before families can find them.
• Anyone else only if you approve their request or share the record yourself.
• R8D staff, only to give support or keep the service safe.

Academics stay private to the family unless you choose to share them. The record is never public.

To review what we hold, open Profile, then Settings, then Your data, and choose Export this record. You can edit the record in the app at any time. Delete account on the same page removes your account and every record only you guard. To delete one child’s record and keep your account, or to stop us keeping it, email support@pebbleplatforms.com.

We do not sell a child’s information and we do not share it with advertisers. The app shows the same sponsor offers to everyone. They are never chosen using a child’s information, and sponsors receive nothing about your child.

If we learn that a child under 13 created an account without a parent or guardian, we delete it. If you think that has happened, or you have any question about your child’s information, email support@pebbleplatforms.com.

Who can see your information

• The people connected to an athlete, according to their role and the access the athlete or guardian has given them.
• Other signed-in members, for approved trainer profiles listed in the trainer directory.
• Anyone you choose to share with yourself, for example when you share an export or a profile link.

Athlete records are never public. There is no public web page for an athlete’s profile.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process information only to provide their service to us.

• Google Cloud and Firebase host our servers, database and files, and handle sign-in.
• Apple and Google provide sign-in and push notification delivery.
• Expo delivers push notifications to your device.
• Resend sends invitation and account emails.
• Sentry receives crash reports.
• Google Gemini creates AI goal plans.
• Stripe processes membership payments.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

AI goal plans

AI plans are optional. When you ask for one, we send the athlete’s age band, sport, position, the chosen trait, the goal text and their latest trait scores. We do not send the athlete’s name, team names, academics, coach notes or attachments. Goal text is written by you, so keep personal details out of it.

Every AI plan is labeled as made by AI, and you can edit, regenerate or remove it.

Payments

Memberships are paid on r8dathlete.com/membership through Stripe, which processes the payment. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe receives your email, your payment details and your app account ID so it can take the payment and link it to your account. We never send it any athlete information.

Your choices

• View and edit your information in the app at any time.
• Export an athlete record from Settings. The export is a zip file, and its attachment links work for 24 hours.
• Delete your account from Settings, or by emailing support@pebbleplatforms.com.
• Turn notifications on or off in the app or in your device settings.
• Choose whether the app can use your camera or photos. You can change this in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. Email support@pebbleplatforms.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

When you delete your account

Deleting your account removes your login, your profiles and every athlete record only you are a guardian of. An athlete with another guardian stays with that guardian. Evaluations you wrote as a coach stay on those athletes’ records without your name.

Deleted information leaves our active systems promptly. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire. To cancel a membership, use its billing page before you delete your account, or email support@pebbleplatforms.com.

Security

Information travels over encrypted connections. Photos and files are kept in private storage and opened through links that expire. Access inside the app is checked against each person’s role and connections. No system is perfectly secure, so if you notice something wrong, tell us at support@pebbleplatforms.com.

Where your information is stored

R8D Athlete is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app before it takes effect.
